The implementation of the decision made by the mayor of North Mitrovica, Erden Atic, for Serbian institutions located in the building in Bosniak Mahala to submit documents on the registration of services or to vacate the facility has been postponed once again.
After a full day of speculation as to whether the decision to „vacate“ this facility will be implemented, the mayor of North Mitrovica, Erden Atic, reacted last night on his Facebook profile.
„The deadline to vacate the illegally used facility is postponed until the report is accepted by the municipal inspectorate,“ the new decision states.
This decision amended the first article of the decision of August 25, which also postponed the execution of the takeover of the mentioned building.
The new decision emphasized that the municipal inspectorate is obliged to determine the circumstances and reasons for the use of the facility „which are collected through field visits and communication with all parties“.
The inspectorate is obliged to submit the report within 15 days.
„After it is accepted and its findings are evaluated, this decision is implemented in the executive procedure, if the parties refuse to voluntarily vacate the building,“ the mayor’s decision states.
It is also specified that the other provisions of the decision made in late August remain unchanged.
The deadline the Municipality of North Mitrovica gave to the Serbian institutions located in the building in Bosniak Mahala to submit documents on the registration of services or to vacate the building – which the Kosovo local self-government claims to belong to the municipality -expired yesterday.
The building in question houses the offices of the Kosovo Office, the Kosovo-Mitrovica District, the Vucitrn Social Services Department, as well as the Office of the Pension and Insurance Fund.
From the early hours of the morning, numerous news crews were stationed in front of the building, both from newsrooms reporting in Serbian and Albanian.
Several Italian Carabinieri vehicles and one KFOR vehicle were parked nearby, while Kosovo Police and EULEX vehicles occasionally passed by.
On the other hand, the leaders of Srpska Lista and the representatives of the municipality of North Mitrovica did not react or visit the site today.
The media have been speculating since yesterday that the decision of the Municipality of North Mitrovica to „vacate“ these buildings was again postponed until the second half of September, allegedly at the call of one of the Western embassies in Pristina.
The Serbian president confirmed that the decision is being postponed earlier today.
„Pristina tried to implement its intentions with tricks, but they were again pressured by the EU and the US and had to give up,“ said Vucic.
He revealed that this decision would still be implemented sometime after his meeting with Kurti in Brussels.
However, just a few hours later, the office of the mayor of the municipality of North Mitrovica stated that the decision had not been postponed and that the citizens would be informed if anything changed, which Atic did yesterday evening.
