The mayor of North Mitrovica, Erden Atic, postponed the deadline to “vacate” the buildings where part of the offices of the institutions of the Republic of Serbia are situated by two weeks, the mayor’s adviser Visar Syla confirmed for KoSSev. Previously, Atic himself confirmed the news for TV Dukagjini.
„I can confirm that we have moved the date by two weeks. After two weeks, the decision will be made according to the planned schedule,“ the municipality said in a written reply to KoSSev.
The original deadline, which the municipal inspectors of North Mitrovica gave to Serbian institutions to submit a document on the registration of services, or to vacate the buildings „owned by the Municipality“, expired today.
Around a dozen media crews have been stationed in front of the Kosovo Mitrovica district building, which houses the Kosovo Office of the Government of Serbia, since early this morning. The leader of GI „Serbian Survival“ Aleksandar Arsenijevic is also present at the site. Occasionally, a KP vehicle can be spotted cruising by the building.
Traffic and trade in this multi-ethnic part of the town are proceeding as usual. As of this moment, none of the officials of Srpska Lista have made an appearance.
Since last week, this inspection operating within the Kosovo system visited on two occasions the institutions of the Republic of Serbia located in the building of the Kosovo-Mitrovica district, in its immediate vicinity, as well as some other facilities where other Serbian structures are located, including the Pension Fund.
The inspectors handed to Igor Simic, who is the director of this institution, a record as per which the aforementioned Serbian institutions are given a deadline of three days to prepare documentation on the registration of services, or to vacate the facility which, as this document states, is owned by the municipality.
According to an advisor to Erden Atic, they were greeted by Simic, who pointed out that he „does not have any document about the building“ and that he „doesn’t know whose property it is“, noting that he is working here „because his superiors sent him there“.
