The REC confirms two more lists; 7 candidates with Kosovo residence so far

The Republic Electoral Commission (REC) confirmed two more electoral lists during last night’s session and rejected two electoral lists. There are currently 20 confirmed lists for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for June 21st.

At two sessions held on June 9th after midnight, the members of the REC made a decision to reject the confirmation of the electoral list Socijalizam jedini izlaz – NKPJ – SKOJ, Aleksandar Banjanac – Aleksandar Djenic, submitted on June 5, 2020, by the citizens’ group Socijalizam jedini izlaz – NKPJ – SKOJ. The confirmation of the electoral list LEVIJATAN POKRET – JA ZIVIM ZA SRBIJU, which was submitted on June 5, 2020, by the citizens’ group LEVIJATAN POKRET – JA ZIVIM ZA SRBIJU, was also rejected.

On the other hand, the REC confirmed the electoral list of RUSKA STRANKA – SLOBODAN NIKOLIC, submitted on June 5, 2020 by Ruska Stranka and the electoral list Cedomir Jovanovic – KOALICIJA ZA MIR (Liberalno demokratska partija, TOLERANCIJA Srbije, BOSNJACKA GRADJANSKA STRANKA – BOSNJACKA GRADJANSKA STRANKA, STRANKA CRNOGORACA, Vlaska narodna stranka – Partia neamului rumânesc, Liberalno demokratski pokret Vojvodine, UDRUZENjE JUGOSLOVENA U SRBIJI, AMARO – Action network of associations and Roma organizations, Association of Citizens „Rumuni Homolja“, Skaska), which was submitted by KOALICIJA ZA MIR.

RUSKA STRANKA’s list was supported by 10,163 citizens, and KOALICIJA ZA MIR’s list by 11,152 citizens. The request submitted by both lists to be recognized as coalitions of political parties of national minorities was rejected.

Only 7 MP candidates with Kosovo residency

Speaking about MP candidates with Kosovo residence, the largest number of such candidates (three of them) can be found on ALEKSANDAR VUCIC – ZA NASU DECU electoral list:

  • Ljubomir Maric, Kosovska Mitrovica (52)
  • Danijela Vujicic, Kosovska Mitrovica (54)
  • Milan Savic, Kosovska Mitrovica (68)

There is only one candidate with Kosovo residency on the list IVICA DACIC – „Socijalisticka partija Srbije (SPS), Jedinstvena Srbija (JS) – Dragan Markovic Palma“:

  • Zvonimir Stevic, Pristina (31)

On the list Dr. VOJISLAV SESELJ – SRPSKA RADIKALNA STRANKA:

  • Dobrosav Dobric, Zvecan (26)
  • Ivana Stojanovic, Pristina (229)

On the list ZA KRALJEVINU SRBIJU (Pokret obnove Kraljevine Srbije, Monarhisticki front) – Zika Gojkovic:

  • Mirko Glibo, Zubin Potok (61)

Milena Popovic is also on the list ALEKSANDAR VUCIC – ZA NASU DECU, while Petar Miletic is on SERGEJ TRIFUNOVIC – POKRET SLOBODNIH GRADJANA list. Both of these candidates, however, have a Belgrade residency.

At its Sunday session, the REC decided to open 8,386 polling stations in the upcoming elections, about 130 more than in the 2017 presidential elections. According to the REC’s decision, there will be 90 polling stations in Kosovo, and 43 abroad.
