The legal cooperation between Belgrade and Pristina regarding the case of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic „was stuck at the very moment when all reasonable doubts led to Milan Radoicic as the main suspect for the lethal assassination.“ „Instead of co-operation and being placed before the law as the main suspect, he was granted amnesty by President Aleksandar Vucic. There is not a single rational explanation other than the fact that there is a relationship of an instigator and a perpetrator between Vucic and Radoicic,“ Kosovo Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri said today. Tahiri’s allegations arrive in the midst of shocking accusations made by both the Serbian and Kosovo officials.
Just a day before the 14-month anniversary since the assassination of the GI SDP leader and one of the most prominent Serb leaders from Kosovo, Oliver Ivanovic, mutual accusations made by Serbian and Kosovo officials about the involvement and responsibility for the lack of results in the investigation of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic have intensified.
Serbian ministry of justice Nela Kuburovic responded immediately.
„The Serbian authorities did not and will not hide and conceal criminals and murderers, as the confirmed criminals – KLA members, like Thaci, Haradinaj and Veseli are doing, while dressed in the garments of so-called Kosovo politicians.“
„There is no doubt, they are right at one point, that there is certainly a political background to the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. If it had not been so, then Pristina authorities would never refuse to form a joint investigation team with the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime in Belgrade, they would never refuse to transmit shells from the scene of the killing, and they would not take several months to pass the minutes taken from the crime scene investigation,“ she wrote in a written statement.
„The so-called Kosovo authorities did not send any information regarding the alleged investigation against Milan Radoičić at the request from Belgrade, which shows the legal and factual merits of their charges“ – she adds further.
„Our requests sent to Serbian officials for legal cooperation in Ivanovic’s case were stuckthe moment when all reasonable doubts led to Milan Radoicic as the main suspect for the lethal assassination which cost Oliver Ivanovic, a citizen and politician of the Republic of Kosovo, his life.
Instead of co-operation and being placed before the law as the main suspect, he was granted amnesty by President Aleksandar Vucic. There is not a single rational explanation other than the fact that there is a relationship of an instigator and a perpetrator between Vucic and Radoicic. The citizens of Kosovo, and especially those from the Serbian community, need to know that the perpetrator of this crime will, sooner or later, be brought to justice and there will be no regime that will hide the factual truth. Ivanovic was a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo and our institutions will not stop until his case is solved,“ Tahiri published on his Facebook account.
These allegations arrived following the Kosovo President’s claims from last night that „the mafia boss in the north, Milan Radoicic stands behind the assassination of former Serbian leader Oliver Ivanovic,“ Gazeta Metro reported.
Unlike Tahiri, who said that Radoicic is the perpetrator, the Kosovo president described him as „one of the organizers“.
„All indicators by the security institutions of the Republic of Kosovo lead to one of the organizers of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic and officials of the relevant institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are to take appropriate actions,“ Thaci said.
And while Thaci claimed that „the current government in Belgrade ordered the murder of Ivanovic“, Tahiri made concrete accusations against Aleksandar Vucic today.
The head of the Kosovo Office, Marko Djuric, on the other hand, wrote in a statement that „investigative authorities will soon be able to provide more information on this case“, while also listing the names of persons suspected of being involved in the murder of Oliver Ivanovic – „We are increasingly certain that Thaci, Veseli and the Kosovo authorities stand directly behind the murder of Oliver Ivanovic“.
The competent prosecutor’s offices have still not reacted to these shocking allegations of political representatives in Pristina and Belgrade. As before, the public is being informed about possible progress in the investigation by political representatives, not by the competent institutions.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced two months ago in the studio of the ‘Cirilica’ show that the results of the investigation into the murder of Oliver Ivanovic will be known after the anniversary of the murder.
„I asked our investigative authorities to wait for the anniversary to pass to avoid being told that we are distracting the public and deceiving the people in Serbia in order to avoid some kind of protest and so on,“ Vucic said, adding that he would speak his mind about it „more openly than ever before“ and that he will talk about Ivanovic’s murder and investigation „at great length“.
