An hour after KoSSev published a news piece based on the confirmation from one of the mayors from the north of Kosovo that they are considering the possibility of submitting a request to the Constitutional Court to declare the administrative instruction for their recall unconstitutional, the same mayor denied his allegations in a follow-up statement for the KoSSev portal.

„There was a misunderstanding in communication,“ declared the mayor of the Zubin Potok municipality, Izmir Zeqiri.

KoSSev published the news item today that at this week’s meeting of the mayors of northern municipalities in Leposavic, the possibility of submitting a request to the Constitutional Court to declare the Administrative Instruction for the recall of mayors unconstitutional was considered. Zeqiri himself confirmed this information in a statement to KoSSev.

In a follow-up statement, however, he cited a „misunderstanding in communication“.

„Maybe we misunderstood each other because of the language barrier. We (the mayors) had that meeting, we did not consider anything, nor did we talk about what we should do,“ he said.

Zeqiri also claims that his colleague got our journalist’s question „wrong“.

„There was no consideration, no agreement, except for a meeting between colleagues,“ Zeqiri underscored.

On the other hand, he confirmed that the mayors discussed the process for their recall, that is, last week’s collection of signatures.

He once again alleged irregularities were recorded in this process, adding that „one person could have signed the petition for 10 people“.
