The World Rafting Cup in Zubin Potok finished: Team from Italy wins, followed by Russia and Bulgaria

The World Rafting Cup, taking place in Zubin Potok, has officially ended after yesterday’s rafting ride down the Velji Breg–Ugljare track. Rafting fans from eight countries gathered for this sports event, which was opened by a ceremonial parade of competitors through the streets of the far north municipality. The best in the men’s and women’s categories, and overall, was the team from Italy, second place went to Russia, while the Bulgarian team took third place.

The first day of competition was marked by the participating countries’ been challenged by one of the most beautiful and scenic rafting courses in Europe, 4 km long, as the organizers pointed out. This rafting course is also illuminated for 1 km, which made it possible for the participants to enjoy night rafting.

The third and final day of this World Cup ended with the particpants rafting down the Velji Breg – Ugljare course and the announcement of the winners.

The participants announced their intent to return again next year.

The organizers of the competition were the Municipality of Zubin Potok, the World Rafting Federation (WRF) and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
