An appeal by the Kosovo subsidiary of Telekom Srbija, MTS d.o.o, regarding the decision to revoke its license has been accepted, it was confirmed for KoSSev.
MTS. d.o.o continues to operate freely, the company announced.
„Pristina authorities accepted the appeal of MTS d.o.o. to the previous decision to remove it from the register of business companies. Therefore, MTS d.o.o. continues to be duly registered and to operate regularly,“ they indicated.
As the company stated, the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (ARBK) was ordered to review all changes and data in the register while“strictly complying with the Brussels Agreement and other relevant regulations“.
The CEO of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lucic, expressed satisfaction over the decision.
He says that it thus confirmed the truth and restored legal certainty for the operation and functioning of MTS d.o.o., in accordance with the rule of law.
„After a great and difficult struggle, for now the truth has won out, which is of great importance for our employees, users and people living in Kosovo. This is just the beginning of the further work and development of MTS d.o.o., which will surely become a leader with the quality and variety of its services. And this time I want to say that we have only just begun and that great things are yet to come!“ Added Lucic.
He thanked the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and other representatives of Serbian institutions for „their hard work, dedication and commitment during this extremely difficult process.“
He also thanked the representatives of the international community and „all actors of good will who were of immense help so that law and justice prevailed in this case.“
In August, ARBK decided to revoke the license of MTS d.o.o.
The company’s registration certificates were revoked due to documentation with „unconstitutional content,“ the Kosovo Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade announced at the time.
In the meantime, this company filed a complaint, while the director of Telekom visited Pristina on Tuesday, where he also discussed this agency’s decision with international representatives.
On the same day, the Competition Authority in Pristina held the first hearing against the company MTS d.o.o.
At the hearing, acting director of the Administration for the Competition Auhority, Selajdin Beqa, said that this company took actions „contrary to the law on the protection of competition by purchasing other operators without notice“.
On the other hand, the general director of MTS d.o.o., Vladimir Lucic, emphasized that MTS d.o.o. in Kosovo is operating as per the Brussels Agreement and that its shutdown „would have major consequences“, while he also announced that the deadline for making a decision expired yesterday.
