The opposition leader, Vuk Jeremic tweeted yesterday that Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic allegedly met on November 4th in Rome, where they “agreed to raise the import tax on Serbian products”. Jeremic also asked the president whether he met with Thaci. Kosovo media later reported more details about this Vucic-Thaci meeting, claiming the two secretly discussed the partition.
Pristina-based Gazeta Express and Syri.net claim that Thaci visited Rome on 4th of November and that he traveled to Rome on at least two more occasions.
His visits were personal, Kosovo media reported. The Embassy stated that he only used the official vehicle when he arrived and departed from the airport. It also claimed not to be familiar with Thaci’s whereabouts during his visits.
Reliable sources of „Syri.net“ claim that during Thaci’s stay in Italy, the son of billionaire speculative investor and philanthropist, Alexander Soros, was also seen in the Italian capital, who is allegedly standing behind this plan.
Thaci suddenly, for no apparent reason, fired the Kosovo ambassador to Italy, Alma Lama several days ago and replaced her with Kimete Bytyci. Bytyci, who is known in Pristina’s political circles as a good friend of Hashim Thaci, has been a member of the General Board of Thaci’s PDK party since 2006.
No official response from either Vucic or Thaci has been so far reported in connection to the latest allegations
