„There is a possibility that the Independent Liberal Party (Samostalna Liberalna Stranka) will be part of the Kosovo Government again,“ the SLS president, Slobodan Petrovic told RTK a day before the 13th anniversary of the party.
Petrovic said the SLS gave concrete results during their two terms in the Kosovo government. He underlined that it was not easy to survive on the political scene, but that he is proud of the results achieved and the trust of the citizens of Kosovo. He, however, also mentioned the “pressures placed on his party”.
Petrovic stated that it would be easier for them to survive if they had support from Belgrade, as is the case with Srpska Lista.
Several members of the SLS, including Petrovic himself, were detained at the Merdare border crossing where they were interrogated by the BIA (Serbian Intelligence Agency) members. Even after the SLS party sent a request for an explanation to the Serbian MIA and the BIA, the reason for the detainment is still officially unknown.
The SLS president criticized Srpska Lista, claiming that as one of the representatives of the Serbian community it has not shown “visible results which are in the interest of that community”.
