A Montenegrin citizen from Podgorica, M.M. (the media revealed his full name), who was arrested in July in Pristina, was offered the status of a cooperating witness in the case of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, reported Montenegrin newspaper Dan on Monday.
„He was allegedly offered incentives if he signs a pre-written statement accusing a criminal group composed of members from Serbia and Montenegro of organizing and committing the murder of Ivanovic,“ this newspaper reported, referring to its findings.
„Although Kosovo authorities have repeatedly questioned M.M. on this matter, he denied being involved in the crime and refused to testify at their order. According to Dan’s findings, the same offer will be presented to a further two arrested members of a criminal group wanted by Montenegrin authorities on the suspicion of the murder of Radomir Djurickovic,“ Dan newspaper wrote.
Belgrade’s daily tabloid newspaper Kurir published identical news at the end of July, shortly after the arrest of M. M. „EXCLUSIVE! THACI AND HARADINAJ’S BLACKMAIL PLAN: Arrested criminals offered MILLIONS to falsely accuse Serbia of killing Oliver Ivanovic!“
M.M. and five more persons – I.M. and V.V. from Cetinje, as well as Dj.P., S.D., and Lj. Z. from Kosovo were arrested in July in two separate operations by the Kosovo Police. Some of these persons were also wanted by the Serbian police for capital offenses, as the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic himself has confirmed, not specifying which offenses he was talking about.
Newspaper Dan, however, stated that S.D., a Rad football club fan, is suspected of killing 38-years-old Petar Arsic, a member of the same fan group, in the Belgrade suburb of Vidikovac, at the end of February this year.
Oliver Ivanovic was killed on January 16th in front of his party’s premises in North Mitrovica. Despite the investigations conducted both in Belgrade and Pristina, and by Ivanovic’s partner, Milena Popovic, including several announcements that the results will be declared publicly, this has not happened to date. The murderer and the instigators have not been found.
