The windows of four Serb-owned shops, situated at the very entrance to Bosniak Mahala in North Mitrovica, were broken last night. The Kosovo Police announced tonight that a shock bomb detonation was reported in this area last night, and that, according to the report, several windows were broken as a result.

„According to the preliminary information, it is suspected that the explosion could be caused by organized criminal structures as a continuation of efforts to raise tensions and destabilize the situation, to spread a sense of insecurity and fear,“ the Kosovo Police said.

KP previously confirmed for the KoSSev portal that the case is open. Moreover, they now reveal that the anti-terrorism units are also involved in the investigation.

„The Kosovo police with its units, including the anti-terrorism unit, are undertaking intensive actions in the investigation of this case to identify and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice,“ the police said.

Furthermore, they called on citizens, as well as the media, to confirm all sensitive information through the media office of the Kosovo Police – „to provide correct information and have accurate information in real-time.“

The windows of four Serb-owned shops, situated on Knjaza Milosa Street at the very entrance to Bosniak Mahala, near the Technical Secondary School, were broken late last night.

The owner of one of the shops confirmed for KoSSev that one of his Albanian neighbors informed him this morning that his shop windows were smashed.

„The neighbors say that a detonation was heard here at around 3 o’clock last night. This is not the result of a detonation,“ he stressed.

In the meantime, the head of the Kosovo Office, Petar Petkovic reacted, placing the blame on the broken shop windows on Pristina.

„Kurti’s extremists are not even allowing the Serbs to celebrate St. Nicholas in peace,“ he underlined, adding that „he and his thugs in police uniforms are moving further away from a peaceful solution to the situation in the north of the province.“

The former mayor of North Mitrovica, Milan Radojevic, addressed the public today from Bosniak Mahala, revealing that the perpetrators of last night’s incident are unknown. He added that after smashing the windows, they then fled in the direction of South Mitrovica.

He alleged that the owners attempted to prevent an attack on their shops last night after a “Topovski udar” pyrotechnic device was thrown at them.
