Large quantities of weapons and ammunition were found in a private house in the Zvecan settlement known as Gvozdici today. „This house was used to collect and distribute weapons to Serb criminal groups,“ the Kosovo Interior Minister, Xhelal Svecla, claimed.
As the KP of the region north previously confirmed for KoSSev, according to their preliminary information, the police found explosives, hand grenades, at least three AK-47 rifles (Kalashnikov), ammunition and other items in this house.
The KP of the region north confirmed that although there are suspects in this case, no one has been arrested today.
The residents of this settlement testified for KoSSev that at least seven vehicles of the Kosovo Police were present at the scene during the search.
In the meantime, the Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs confirmed the news, adding that KFOR was also present at the scene during the operation.
„So far, a large number of weapons have been discovered, including automatic rifles, bullets, hand grenades and explosives. In addition to the security institutions, representatives of KFOR were also present at the scene,“ Svecla specified.
He went on to describe the house where the weapons were found as a „weapons base“ in the north of Kosovo.k

In the meantime, the Kosovo Police issued a separate statement, sharing new details about the case.
The search was carried out in a house owned by a Kosovo Serb, L. G. (1948), they revealed.
During the search, four AK 47 rifles and 34 cartridges for this rifle, 1,546 bullets of various calibers, eight hand grenades, one land mine, two gas masks, two military bags, one stun grenade, two reflector sights, one military knife, one military mask, two hunting ammunition belts, five small military bags, one military equipment belt, one pistol holster, and a weapon cleaning kit.
The KP specified that the case is being handled by police investigators from the Directorate for Organized Crime and the Directorate for Capital Offenses.
Svecla also that „illegal life and abnormal system“ in the north has been going on for the second decade now.
„Criminal organizations and criminals financed by Belgrade took refuge there,“ he claimed.
„Smuggling, the illegal entry of goods and weapons into Kosovo, created a disturbing situation for our citizens in the north, who, faced with the power of criminals, lived under constant blackmail and pressure.“
He reminded that the Kosovo MIA, as part of the Kosovo government, discovered and blocked „illegal smuggling routes“, noting that the north is „approaching normality step by step“.
„Law and order will not be violated in any part of the Republic,“ he concluded.
