Five months have passed since the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. „We did not receive answers to many questions, but the most important one is ‘who murdered Oliver’“- GI SDP stated. At the same time, they urged the citizens to light candles and lay flowers at the place where Ivanovic was killed – in front of the premises of his party in North Mitrovica – along with his supporters, family, and friends, tomorrow at 10 am.
„So far, we have received only promises that the killers will be quickly found, but that did not happen. For five months now, we are struggling to find out the truth and at the same time remain on his (Ivanovic’s) path – the path of truth, justice, and democracy. We also point out that we started an initiative to have a street in Kosovska Mitrovica named after Oliver Ivanovic. We expect that this, at least, will happen soon. He deserved it, and our city must at least, in this way, pay him back for everything he has done for his fellow citizens,“ this GI said in a statement.

Only a day earlier a new promise came from Belgrade. The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, said that in the coming days he will provide information on the murder of Ivanovic, as well as „some other things“.
The Serbian President released an identical announcement on March 17th at a press conference. At that time, he said that the Serbian services „will speak on this issue in two weeks“; „what they discovered, and what they cannot discover, and so on.“ However, such information was not made public in the two weeks following this statement, as the President himself announced.
Oliver Ivanovic was killed on January 16th in Sutjeska Street, in front of his party’s premises, by six shots from a firearm. At the time of the murder, the surveillance cameras, which were located at the premises – did not function, but started functioning ten minutes later – Ksenija Bozovic, the first deputy of Ivanovic, received this answer from the prosecution’s office to a question about what can be seen on the footage. To date, the public has no information about the progress of the investigation.
Yesterday was also marked with the information on the disappearance of a journalist, Stefan Cvetkovic, from Bela Crkva. He came into the public focus only a few days ago after his comment on the „ordered criminal liquidation“, as he described the murder of the most famous Serbian politician from Kosovo at a media conference he organized at the UNS press center in Belgrade, entitled „What is the cost of liquidation in North Kosovo?“
