Four more people from Serb-majority municipalities in the north of Kosovo have tested positive for coronavirus, epidemiologist Aleksandar Antonijevic confirmed at a press conference in North Mitrovica today.
The total number of infected persons in Kosovo Serb communities is 27. Twenty-six cases are from the north, while there is only one confirmed coronavirus case south of the Ibar.
Northern municipalities are currently under a curfew imposed by the Republic of Serbia. The curfew started yesterday at 1 pm and will last until tomorrow at 6 am. All shops and stores in these municipalities will also stay closed during this time.
North Mitrovica and Zvecan municipalities were placed in quarantine on Friday, as per a decision by the Serbian-sponsored emergency teams of the two municipalities. This measure, however, was imposed with Pristina’s „full coordination“ with local governments in the north, as several government officials confirmed in Pristina yesterday, including Kosovo Health Minister, Arben Vitiu.
