„A compromise solution in the interest of stability and the future of the entire region can be reached by respecting Serbia’s legitimate interests,“ the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic told the US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Richard Grenell.
Following Wednesday’s meeting with the Kosovo President, Hashim Thaci and future Kosovo Prime Minister-designate, Albin Kurti in Pristina, the US ambassador to Berlin and Donald Trump’s new envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Richard Grenell met with the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic today.
Upon landing in Belgrade, the US Embassy in Belgrade announced on its Twitter account that Grenell was bringing a „simple message“ from the US head of state to Belgrade that „the people of Serbia and Kosovo want peace, economic development, jobs and a better life for their children.“
He conveyed a similar message to the Serbian president.
„The Trump administration strongly believes that economic development, creating new jobs and increasing trade opportunities is a key part of ensuring lasting peace. The goal is to bring our partners in Serbia and Kosovo and Metohija to a comprehensive solution in order to resolve conflict points in the region. Both sides will have to work closely and quickly, looking towards the future,“ the Special Envoy Grenell said, reads a statement from the president’s cabinet.
During his stay in Belgrade, Grenell also met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabic.
