Vucic: Srpska Lista to participate in elections even though Quinta and Albanian portals are against them

The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic assessed today that the Kosovo election campaign would not be easy for Srpska Lista. Vucic, however, added that he still expects the leading Serbian party to win – if they decide to participate in the upcoming Kosovo parliamentary elections. According to him, Srpska Lista would face the most difficult campaign so far. Quinta and Albanian portals have been striving for Srpska Lista to loose to “their favorites” – he also said.

SNS party leader and President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic addressed the members of the party before the SNS Main Board meeting today. He announced personnel changes in the party – during the upcoming parliamentary elections and in the future government.

Vucic, however, criticized the work of some SNS party members.

„If I cannot reach them on the phone, how can the ordinary people reach them,“ he noted.

The Serbian President once again criticized the opposition in Serbia. He claimed that, in the coming period, the opposition “would be one of the tools of internal pressure on Serbia to recognize Kosovo without compromise”.

Vucic also mentioned the announced parliamentary elections in Kosovo scheduled for October 6th.  Srpska Lista will face a difficult period – he estimated.

„We will see if Srpska Lista will choose to participate (in the Kosovo elections). I advise them to participate, to win even though they will face the most difficult campaign so far. The Albanian portals, Quinta, and everyone else used various ways to join the race to make sure that Srpska Lista loses – because it works with Belgrade, works and lives for the state of Serbia – to some of their favorites,“ Vucic said today.

He reiterated that Serbia would be pressured once again after the Pristina government is formed.

“A difficult autumn awaits us, a difficult winter awaits us. First and foremost because of Kosovo. Our country will face great pressure as soon as the Albanians form their government, perhaps even before that. There will be great pressures on our country, combined with internal pressures – of course, through all their services as it is done everywhere in the world, in any way possible.“

According to Vucic, these pressures will be aimed at getting Serbia „to recognize Kosovo’s independence without compromise.“

The president, however, already has the answer to those pressures:

“Recognition without compromise, a recognition in which you get everything, and Serbs and Serbia get nothing – you won’t see anything like it, you would have to dismiss me on the streets or in some other place.”

SNS members greeted his announcement with applause. The SNS president, however, warned his party colleagues that it was easy to applaud.

„You think that saying no is enough. It’s not. Because the pressures will be disturbing both through the internal factor and through their media – they will fabricate all kinds of stories, as they have fabricated in the previous period,“ Vucic concluded.
