The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic informed the SNS party during today’s session of the SNS Executive Committee that he is being asked to recognize Kosovo’s independence and that a new format of discussions will be proposed in Berlin on April 29th aimed at full recognition of Kosovo’s independence. The SNS leader told the initiators that such an idea „will never come to pass“ and that they can „impeach him on the streets of Serbia“ because he and the SNS will not accept it. The Serbian President emphasized that he will not give up on insisting and talking about the compromise, adding that, regardless of pressures, negotiations with Pristina will not continue until the taxes are abolished. Pristina should expect the first countermeasures from Belgrade around Saint George’s Day when another session of the SNS committee will be convened six months after the introduction of the taxes, at which these measures will be decided.
„There is nothing that the Albanians have not done against Serbia and Serbs,“ Vucic said, listing what he sees as negative moves from Pristina, such as that the Association of Serb Municipalities was not formed, taxes were imposed which are contrary to international and legal norms, Kosovo formed an army, thus violating its Constitution and NATO advice, a Platform on the Dialogue was established which is “against the talks.”
He stressed that „the pressures on Serbia have never been greater,“ adding that „Serbia, in terms of Kosovo and Metohija, is facing a terrible period.”
“They have been coming to Belgrade in the last few weeks and inviting me to different meetings, during which they insist that we have to do something. Vucic, please do two or three things to appease the Albanians, so that they will abolish the taxes. You simply have to take a second to express your disbelief. Then false stories about the cadastre, diplomas and those agreements that the famous expert Borko Stefanovic signed start, with which they also cheated the Serbs, regardless of our bad negotiations. And when you tell them: People, it is impossible if the taxes are not abolished – (they reply) no, no, you say that you will no longer work on the annulment or withdrawal of the recognition of an independent Kosovo,“ the President shared the discussions he had with international representatives in connection to taxes and the dialogue.
Vucic explained that it is painful for him that „no one is offering a compromise to Serbia anymore in relation to Kosovo, everyone is now demanding a full recognition.“
„When I said that we had a chance to fight for a compromise, I was declared a traitor, they only had anathemas for me and my family. Well, that may have been our last chance to reach a real compromise. Nobody is offering us a compromise today. They believe that they have made an agreement in the international community, they know that the Serbs are also against it, and the only thing they ask from us today is to recognize independence,“ he said.
No one, except maybe me, wanted some kind of solution. It seems that it benefitted everyone if there was no solution. Great. Today we have a situation in which the only solution that they will ask from Serbia, while the pressures will get harder and tougher, will be full independence without partition, without anything for Serbia, full independence in the full and integral territory of an independent Kosovo
Speaking about the upcoming meeting in Berlin, he said: „Nothing good waits for us there.“
„The only thing I expect is a request for some new format, some new dialogue where the goal is supposed to be the recognition of Kosovo’s independence, while the Serbs will not get anything or they will get human rights, which are maybe not already naturally implied when it comes to the Albanians,“ the President warned.
According to him, in addition to the new format of talks, the West will ask Serbia „to enter into negotiations, even if the Albanians do not abolish the taxes.“
„At the cost, not the one to be paid by Serbia, but the one I have to personally pay, I will not accept to continue any discussion if the taxes are not abolished,“ he said, receiving a warm round of applause in the hall in Belgrade.
He spoke about what international representatives are saying to him: „Come to define the goal of talks and negotiations, which is recognition of an independent Kosovo, and you Serbs will get nothing,“ to which the President allegedly replies: „That will never come to pass, impeach me on the streets of Serbia, and bring someone else to do it, I and the SNS will not do it, but we are always ready for discussion and compromise.“
Vucic said that because of this „firm stance“ of the SNS and its president, Serbia will be pressured internally in the form of the support of „internal elements“ in order to more easily reach the desired goal of the new format of negotiations.
„Accordingly, the pressures on our country will be great, they will support various internal elements in order to reduce the strength of the Serbian state and reach this goal much easier,“ he added.

We have been waiting for the international community to have mercy to ask them to that, to ask the babe they gave birth to, they created, guarded, nurtured, for them to ask them to abolish these taxes.
