Two men were detained today in the North Mitrovica on suspicion of distributing mail on behalf of Serbia’s postal service, Kosovo Police confirmed to KoSSev.
According to Petrit Fejza, head of operations for the Kosovo Police North Region, the two were taken into custody after police received information that they had been delivering letters in North Mitrovica as postal workers of the Serbian Post.
“Two individuals were detained on suspicion that they were working here as postmen for the Serbian Post. We had information that they were distributing letters from Serbia’s Tax Administration, as well as court documents, and today we found them in possession of those items,” Fejza specified.
Following their detention, the two men were immediately taken to the police station, where they are currently giving statements.
A prosecutor will decide on further steps in the case.
Fejza also confirmed that the case is being handled by the Economic Crimes Unit.
