The sites of the Medija Centar Caglavica and the Slobodno Srpski talk show, whose presenter is the famous journalist from Kosovo, Budimir Nicic, are currently under attack by a hacker group. According to Nicic, the sites were shut down on January 19th – a day after Oliver Ivanovic was posthumously awarded the recognition „Beli Bozur“ for the best cooperation with the media and journalists by the Association of Serbian Journalists in Kosovo, whose president is Nicic, and after the reports from the ceremony were published on the site. Nicic, however, noticed the hacker attack today, as these sites are not used on a daily basis, but only when there is an event taking place in the Medija Centar.

„We’ve received confirmation from our service provider today that both of these sites, which are on the same hosting service, were hacked on the 19th of this month. We just noticed that the websites are not working because these are sites that we do not use on a daily basis, but when we organize events in the Medija Centar, and prepare reports on it for the site, as we had a debate today we were supposed to publish on the site. Also, we use the slobodnosrpski.com site only to post the show once a week,“ Nicic told KoSSev.

The „Slobodno Srpski“ site was also hacked in the past. It was first hacked on January 30th, last year, after the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, when the president of the Civic Initiative “Za nas Zvecan” (For Our Zvecan), Dragisa Milovic, appeared as a guest on the Slobodno Srpski talk-show. It is precisely the reason why Nicic suspects that this was „probably done by the same perpetrators“.

„This was probably done by the same perpetrators as last year. I think that the guest appearance of Dragisa Milovic was last year’s motive, when the main theme of the show was the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. I also think that it is now a similar motive for the site’s takedown, because it occurred the day after Oliver Ivanovic was posthumously awarded by the Association of Serbian journalists in Kosovo, of which I am the president, with the ‘Beli Bozur’ recognition for the best cooperation with the media and journalists. That’s why I think and I suspect that it comes from the same perpetrators,“ Nicic concluded.

The site of the KoSSev portal has also been under attack from hackers and has received several hacker threats and obstruction attempts.
