
Six days before the end of the two-month deadline for the re-registration of vehicles with Serbian markings of towns in Kosovo to RKS, the Kosovo Ministry of Interior sent a call for re-registration to users of the IPKO mobile network.
The Kosovan Ministry of Internal Affairs sent another re-registration call via SMS, written in Serbian.
Several Serbs from the north of Kosovo, but also south of the Ibar River, told KoSSev that they received a text message this morning from the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs reminding them that the deadline for replacing license plates ends on October 31st.
„Register your vehicles to RKS, with financial and procedural benefits until October 31st, 2022. Anywhere, regardless of your place of residence. 0800 GO-RKS“ – reads the text message sent by the Kosovan MIA.
The message also contains a link to the website of Bersier Information Technologies (Bit).
The site in question states that it is an „independent consulting and implementation company in the computer industry“.
Several citizens of the north, as well as Serbs south of the Ibar who use the IPKO mobile network, confirmed for KoSSev that they received a message from the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs earlier this morning.
It is unknown how the ministry obtained the phone numbers of the citizens in question.
The two-month deadline for the re-registration of vehicles with Serbian markings of towns in Kosovo to RKS plates ends in six days. The US, the Quint countries, as well as the European Union have all recently called on the Kosovo government to extend the deadline for the implementation of its decision on re-registration by 10 months. The response of the Kosovo government is pending.
