Ahead of today’s high-level meeting in Brussels, where the European plan, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements are expected to be discussed, a protest against the formation of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities was held in South Mitrovica this Sunday. The protest against the so-called „Bosniaization“ of Kosovo was organized only a few hundred meters from the bridge connecting the southern and northern parts of the city, where the flags of „Greater Albania“ were displayed.
Pristina media reported that the protest was held in Gusavac, organized by the former mayor of South Mitrovica, Agim Bahtiri.
Bahtiri announced the protest against the ASM a couple of days on his Facebook profile, calling on citizens to gather and show „stoic resistance“ with the aim of protecting the territory of Kosovo.
He asked the citizens to „encourage“ the Kosovo government to „not betray and not allow the establishment of this infamous association in any way.“
„The blood of the fallen fighters is calling us from the graves, to come together and forbid the Serb enemy from ruling on our land,“ said Bahtiri.
After the protest, he thanked the citizens who responded to the call in a Facebook post.
He says that the message from this gathering was „clear and precise.“
„We don’t want an association that turns us into Bosnia,“ said Bahtiri, adding:
„The Republic of Kosovo is an independent, sovereign, and democratic state and it will always be so.“
At the same time, Bahtiri shared a photo where about a hundred citizens can be seen protesting, some of whom holding the flags of Albania, the US, and the KLA.

While the citizens of South Mitrovica say that they don’t want Kosovo to be „Bosniaized“, not far from the site of the protest, in one of the busiest areas in the city, which also connects the southern and northern parts, the flags of „Greater Albania“, which have been displayed there for years, can be clearly seen.
The map on this flag is the map of the so-called ethnic, that is, „Greater“ Albania, signifying „one Albanian country“ made up of Albania, Kosovo, part of Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia proper, and Montenegro.
