Stickers with KM markings and the Serbian coat of arms have been placed during the night on dozens of vehicles with RKS plates in North Mitrovica.
In contrast to the stickers used within the sticker regime agreed in September of last year to cover Serbian license plates in Kosovo and Kosovan license plates in Serbia, the latest stickers were placed on dozens of vehicles with RKS license plates in North Mitrovica.
The stickers in question contain KM markings and the Serbian coat of arms. They were placed in such a way to directly cover the RKS markings and the Kosovo coat of arms.
The Kosovo Police unofficially confirmed for KoSSev that they are aware of the case and are working on it.
In a statement for Kallxo, the deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the region north, Besim Hoti, specified that the police are investigating the scene.
„The police are on the scene. We still don’t have any information, when the police come back we will contact the prosecutor and see what will be done“, Hoti told Kallxo earlier this morning.
The cover-up of RKS license plates takes place approximately 15 days before the start of the deadline set by the Kosovo government for owners of vehicles with license plates issued by the Serbian authorities for cities and towns in Kosovo to replace their license plates with Kosovo (RKS) plates.
