Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic said that the Serbs should notify all international organizations about everything that happens to them, particularly every attack – as the Albanians did in the 1990s.
„It will not solve anything, but it will draw the attention of the public. Because the world has changed a lot over the last 10 years and everyone has become sensitive to endangering the minority and human rights,“ Ljajic underlined.
While talking about the latest incident in Kosovo, in which a group of Albanians stoned buses transporting Serb pilgrims in the town of Istok, Ljajic emphasized that the incident no longer has anything to do with politics, but with basic human rights and safety of people who were attacked only because of their religion.
„This atmosphere indicates that we are not close to solving the Kosovo problem,“ Ljajic said, adding:
“On the one hand, there is no readiness in Pristina, nor a democratic legitimacy to present these changes. On the other hand, the international community has other problems in focus, and we will still have to wait for the issue to come onto their agenda.”
