Documentation from the Serbian Provisional Administration of Srbica Municipality, located in North Mitrovica, has been transferred to the Kosovo Archives and Trepča, it was confirmed to KoSSev. For the last two days, authorities have been removing documents and office equipment from the premises previously used by this provisional Serbian body.
On October 16, the Kosovo Police, initially acting alone and later joined by EULEX under a formal warrant, entered the premises.
They determined that the space was being used as an „office functioning as part of an illegal structure responsible for the municipality of Srbica.“
The office was subsequently closed down. Even before police had cordoned off the house and gate with yellow tape, they had begun removing items, including computers and documents.
This process continued into the week, with vehicles carrying Trepča insignia seen transporting office furniture and a large number of folders.
Yesterday, a truck loaded with equipment, mainly office furniture, was accompanied by the Kosovo Police as it headed towards Trepča.
A smaller vehicle from Trepča returned to the premises today, loading more documents from the provisional office of the Srbica municipality.
It has been confirmed that a portion of these documents will be stored at Trepča, while the remainder will be transferred to the Kosovo Archives, a pattern seen in the shutdown of other Serbian institutions in Kosovo.
„Yesterday and today, part of the remaining documentation was collected by Trepča and the Kosovo Archives. The police ensured the safe removal of the documents. Most of it has been taken out,“ Petrir Fejza of the North Kosovo Police stated, without providing further details.
The provisional administration of the Srbica municipality, located in a house on King Peter Street in North Mitrovica, is the 13th Serbian municipality office to be closed by Kosovo authorities in the past two years.
Other municipalities that have faced closures include Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvečan, Leposavić, Zubin Potok, Štrpce, Peć, Klina, Istok, Prizren, Suva Reka, Orahovac, and Dragaš.
