Another gathering titled „16 Minutes of Silence“ was held today in North Mitrovica, marking the twelfth such event to date. Alongside students and local citizens, Nikola Ivanović, the eldest son of the late Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanović, paid tribute to the victims of the canopy collapse in Novi Sad.
„I had some obligations that brought me to Mitrovica, but I certainly didn’t want to miss the opportunity to honor those who lost their lives in Novi Sad,“ Nikola Ivanović told KoSSev. Currently residing in Belgrade, he regularly participates in the „16 Minutes of Silence“ gatherings held daily in the Serbian capital.
„I believe that Belgrade, Serbia, and Mitrovica are gradually waking up from some kind of slumber. I think everything is moving in the right direction, and eventually, things will turn out as they should,“ Ivanović said.
When asked where Oliver Ivanović would be today if he were alive, Nikola Ivanović responded succinctly:
„I’m certain we would be here together.“
