The Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS), together with its Kosovo branch (DNKiM), issued a protest note today over what it described as the inappropriate conduct of Radoica Radomirović, candidate for municipal assembly member and head of the electoral list “Novo lice – Narodna pravda” in Leposavic, toward KoSSev journalist Biljana Vlašković and editor-in-chief Tatjana Lazarević.
The incident followed Radomirović’s dissatisfaction with a question posed by KoSSev’s journalist after Serbian MP Miloš Parandilović addressed citizens in North Mitrovica earlier this week.
After KoSSev’s editor lodged a written protest note against what she described as undue pressure on the media, Radomirović responded with insults, accusing Lazarević of being “an outpost of the criminal organization SL.”
Just hours after KoSSev reported on the incident, Radomirović himself reacted, sending an unsigned and untitled email directly to Lazarević. In it, he accused KoSSev of manipulating the public and demanded that their full private correspondence be published—a request the portal complied with.

In today’s statement, UNS emphasized that while everyone has the right to express dissatisfaction with media coverage, it must not be done through “insults, pressure, attacks, or by endangering the safety of journalists and media workers in any way.”
The Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS) also condemned Radomirović’s behavior, urging him to apologize to the KoSSev newsroom and to “refrain in the future from any insults, labeling or pressure on journalists.”
NUNS further appealed to institutions to treat threats to journalists seriously and to prosecute them, so that “journalists may perform their work freely and professionally, in the interest of citizens and the public.”
The Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK) likewise called on Radomirović to issue an apology, describing his conduct as an alarming signal aimed at professional journalism.
