Insajderi journalist: Our cameraman was attacked for chasing after a vehicle with a kidnapped Albanian teenager

An incident occurred in North Mitrovica today, in which two Albanians sustained injuries – Insajderi’s cameraman Jetmir Muji and civilian G. GJ. Insajderi journalist Visar Duriqi, whose colleague was injured, told KoSSev that the incident happened because he and Muji purportedly spotted an alleged attempt to kidnap a young ethnic Albanian near the main bridge. For now, the police only confirms that one of the injured was transferred to the south, and the other to the hospital in northern Mitrovica, without confirming how the incident happened. The condition of both is stable.

Duriqi, who witnessed part of the incident, together with his colleague, says that he came to North Mitrovica to conduct a scheduled interview.

Upon crossing the main bridge, near the site where members of the Carabinieri are stationed, Duriqi and Muji purportedly spotted “a young Albanian being dragged” into a blue Renault vehicle.

According to Duriqi’s testimony, Muji sprinted after the car, which drove in the direction of Vlado Cetkovica street. However, he lost sight of the vehicle at one point. Upon reaching the intersection, near the place where Oliver Ivanovic was killed, Muji found a group of people placing the injured G. GJ. in an ambulance.

„As the ambulance was driving away with the injured young man, some members of the same group of people attacked Muji and tried to steal his phone,“ claimed Duriqi.

In the meantime, Muji crossed the bridge and sought medical help on the south side.

In the meantime, the Kosovo Journalists Association reacted, expressing shock and concern over the attack. They called on the Kosovo Police to urgently investigate the case and find the perpetrators.

One of KoSSev’s reporters, who happened to find himself near the site of the incident before the ambulance arrived, also saw a young man lying on the street with blood coming out of his mouth. From a distance, he observed a man and a woman rushing to his aid. While trying to find a parking spot, the reporter also noticed an ambulance approaching the place where the young man was lying.

About ten minutes later, when the reporter arrived at the scene, there was nothing there.

Also, until the publication of the news, we were unable to get more details from the Kosovo Police, except this morning’s confirmation that two young men of Albanian nationality were injured, one of whom was treated in a hospital in North Mitrovica, and the other sought help in the south.
