Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and Croatian president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic met in New York. Both of them are visiting the US for the UN General Assembly.
As Croatian based portal Vecernji reported they talked about the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and, as Grabar-Kitarovic said – the latest news on the possible exchange of territory.
„We are very careful and I conveyed our arguments, our stand and the fact that the principle of the Badinter Commission on Borders in the territory of the former Yugoslavia must remain carved into stone“ – Kitarovic said, Vecernji reported.
However, the press release from the Kosovo presidency on the meeting stated that they discussed the expansion of bilateral relations, increase of trade exchange, support for Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integrations and the final stage of the dialogue on the normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. There was no information on Grabar-Kitarovic’s stance on the eventual exchange of territory.
“To us, Croatia, as an EU and NATO member state, and as one of the main regional actors, is a partner of Kosovo, in service to the strengthening of the stability and peace in the region. We share common viewpoints on the developments in the region and we have a traditional partnership,“ said Thaci.
