At the 65th session of the Government of Serbia, held on July 20th, the council of the University of Pristina (with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica) was dismissed and a new council was appointed immediately afterward. Some old members are also part of the new council of this academic institution.
Aleksandar Martinovic, Goran Rakic, Srdjan Popovic, Milan Milisavljevic, Ivan Todosijevic and Vinka Radosavljevic were dismissed.
Out of them Goran Rakic, Srdjan Popovic and Ivan Todosijevic re-appointed.
Martinovic, Popovic and Milisavljevic were replaced by Dalibor Jevtic, Milan Radojevic and Zlatan Elek.
This council faces several serious tasks and challenges, one of them being how to tackle the issue of the new Kosovo authorities in North Mitrovica halting the construction of the rectory building last week, which the university has been waiting for for years.
In the same session, the composition of the provisional authorities of the municipality of Zvecan was altered. Branislav Milosavljevic was relieved of his duties as a member of this body, allegedly at his own request, while Caslav Sofronijevic was appointed.
The new member of the Provisional Authority recently caught the public eye after he started an argument with the MPs of the Republic of Serbia from opposition parties who visited Zvecan and North Mitrovica last month. Sofronijevic, along with some members of his family, greeted them with disapproval.
It is still unknown on which premises the new member will carry out his duties, given that almost two months have passed since the special units of the Kosovo Police have been present in the municipal building.
At the 63rd session of the government, which was held on July 6th, the long-term acting director of JP Mreža Most Sladjana Ivancevic was dismissed. On the same day, Sonja Milojevic, the Editor-in-Chief of TV Most, was appointed in her place.
At the 64th session of July 13th, the acting director of the Kosovo Office, Petar Petkovic, had his mandate extended by another three months.
At the same session, the president of the Board of Directors of the Provincial Cultural Center of Pristina was appointed – Jasmina Novokmet, a tenured professor of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica.
The members of this Board were also appointed: Andrijana Zivanovic, director of the „Stari Kolasin“ Center for Culture in Zubin Potok, Milan Milosavljevic, Director at the National Theater Pristina, Nikola Bradic, Director of the cultural and art program, Provincial Cultural Center of Pristina, Dobrivoje Filic, operator – Provincial Cultural Center of Pristina.
The supervisory board of this institution was also appointed. The president is Tanja Vujovic, a tenured professor of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pristina with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica, and the members include Dejan Obradovic, manager of the „Stari Kolasin“ Center for Culture, Zubin Potok and Nikola Vukicevic, lawyer, Center for Culture „Sava Decanac“ – Leposavic.
