Seselj: Let’s exchange the population of the two municipalities – Albanians from Presevo to Strpce, and Strpce to Presevo

Drive away all Albanians when NATO leaves and run down there, but until then, keep the North under firm control

„In order to free Kosovo and Metohija, we have to drive away, with strong military and police forces, all Albanians who do not recognize the Serbian state. We cannot do this while NATO is there. While we are waiting for NATO to leave and to run down there, we need to keep a part of Kosovo, at least, under firm Serbian control.“

There is no delimitation with Albanians in Albania, but with the Greeks in Durres

„We don’t want any delimitation with Albanians. We, Serbs, should delimitate with the Greeks in Albania, somewhere in the Durres area. The Austro-Hungarian Empire created Albania as an artificial state in order to prevent Serbia from having sea access. Our homeland is in the north of Albania. Everything there is Serbian, both the earth and the stone.“

After tweeting a reminder on how the Serbian Radical Party and its leader, Vojislav Seselj, see the border of Serbia, at least in its southern part, Seselj talked about delimitation in a morning show on Pink TV this week. He also talked about his desire to „slap“ the archimandrite whom he considers a „notorious traitor“ who should “be removed ASAP from their position” of the Abbot of Visoki Decani. Seselj also discussed „a civilized population exchange“ – Albanians to Strpce, Serbs to Presevo, and how it is good that Serbia does not have a „hostile population“ in the „border region“. He also repeated the same messages from Twitter: He hopes that Serbia will regain what is Serbian in Albania. After a “long time” Seselj became a „moderate optimist” on the Kosovo issue. „Doing good in politics“, he intends to come to power in the next 20 years which is how long he is planning to be in politics.

Something is happening in American politics. It is obviously changing. In a way I’m proud if I contributed to it because we supported Trump at the time and in the meantime the entire Serbian community in America voted for him, Vojislav Seselj said on national television, emphasizing that he perceived a change in the rhetoric of American ambassadors as well. Seselj also mentioned Kyle Scott several times.

Winds favorable for Serbia are blowing both from America and Turkey and we need to develop these relations with Turkey. It is good that we have good relations with them (Turkey) and that we are on the road towards their further development

„An array of hope has appeared in the entire Serbian nation which is noticeable,“ he claims.

12 municipalities with Serb majorities to hold a referendum – Kosovo Serbs, do not get me wrong

Although he claims that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia, he also says that reaching an agreement with the Albanians „would not be bad.“ „If only to see where the Serb majority and where the Albanian majority is in Kosovo, he added.“

„And if the two communities are unable to live together, then they should live separately“, Seselj said, emphasizing that this should be worked on if „the circumstances are favorable“.

Seselj has been attacking the Abbot of Visoki Decani for years – „the notorious traitor“

Although he „would never attack the church“, Seselj has, as he explained, called out the church leaders who „had connections with crime,“ such as „Atanasije Rakita, Gligorije and Sava Janjic“ – whom he has „been attacking for years“:

“Be careful, that’s the man who asked Milosevic, Karadzic and Mladic to be sent off to the Hague. He attacked me while I was in the Hague, and when we met, I think it was in 2015, on the staircase of the main pavilion of the Book Fair, he patronizingly said hello – I looked right through him. He is a notorious traitor, and there is no need to talk about it, but the church should remove him from the position of Abbot of Decani monastery as soon as possible.“

Seselj also said that he „knows what his (Janjic’s) intentions are and that he has a vision – to be Metropolitan in the Albanian state“.

„If he wasn’t wearing a monastic garb, I might have slapped him,“ said Seselj, to which Dea and Sarapa, the hosts of the morning show replied: „He got off easy“ and „Every barrel has its bad apples.“

After the show, Srpski Telegraf tabloid published the news on its front page: „SESELJ: I wanted to slap Sava Janjic. SAVED BY THE MONASTIC GARB“; Informer tabloid published the headline: „SESELJ: Population exchange is solution to Kosovo“

Father Sava Janjic has recently come under strong verbal attacks by Serbian tabloids, certain media in Belgrade, Srpska Lista and part of those in state positions.

Serbia would have to intervene in case of an attack on the four municipalities, however, Dea believes: This area is not as red-hot anymore because of the Americans

For „the attacks on the North“ he says that „the Americans provoked them in order for the Serbs to react and for it to flare up so that Serbs are the ones to blame“.

„Serbs were smart and did not fall for this provocation. An attack on any of these four municipalities would have to provoke an intervention from Serbia,“ he added however.

Dea host believes: „This is not as red-hot an area anymore after all these statements by the Americans.“

Serbia must obtain access to sea and request it from the Americans

Seselj proposed to President Vucic to insist on a U.S. resolution on what President Wilson of 1918 said, that Serbia must obtain an access to sea.

What would Seselj do?

„I would now initiate that all 12 municipalities with Serb majority hold a referendum, so that the people there can declare whether they want to stay in Serbia or if they want some other alternative,“ Seselj said, adding that this “would be a solid argument in our hands“:

„Here, 12 municipalities want to stay in Serbia,“ he said.

Compromise solutions could follow in further talks, he explained from the Pink TV studio.

„It is out of the question for us to say, we will take the North of Kosovo and give the Presevo valley,“ he said.

According to Seselj, this is „stupid“: „We give our own (land) for our own.“

He called on Kosovo Serbs „to not get him wrong“ because it is just „an idea and a thought“ – „in order to introduce a new element in the negotiations.“

„Civilized population exchange“

„Since it is easiest to isolate Strpce, in the event of a new crisis situation, they are in the greatest danger,“ explained Seselj.

„Let’s exchange the population of the two municipalities – Albanians from Presevo to Strpce, and Strpce to Presevo. It is a civilized population exchange that would be agreed upon between Serbs and Albanians,“ said the Radicals’ leader.

He claims that Serbia does not care about whether someone will recognize Kosovo, if it reaches an agreement with Serbia, because Serbia will not recognize it. This does not concern us, Seselj said.

„What concerns us is that Serbs retain control over the municipalities in which they are the majority,“ he added.

Radicals – „even more patriotic“ than the Serbian Progressive Party

After Host Dea said that „all these ideas are exposed to attacks,“ and reminding that Vucic warned of attacks against him, Seselj explained that the President is not being fair in saying that the opposition is attacking him. According to Seselj, it is the pro-Western opposition that is attacking Vucic, and not the patriotic opposition, to which he belongs and which „is even more patriotic“ than „the ruling party“.

„The strongest opposition party is more radical than him,“ added Seselj.

The Appeals Chamber of the Criminal Tribunals in The Hague abolished the acquittal of Vojislav Seselj in April and found him guilty of persecution and incitement of persecution of Croats in Hrtkovci. In the first instance proceedings in front of the Hague Tribunal in 2016, he was acquitted on all counts of this indictment, but the prosecution then appealed the verdict. Seselj was sentenced to 10 years in prison, which he had already served since his sentence included the time he spent in custody. Seselj surrendered to The Hague tribunal in 2003, and his trial began in 2006. He is now a Serbian Parliament member, although some of his colleagues think that his mandate, because he is a former convict, was terminated according to the letter of law, and that the Assembly should have only acknowledged this. He is a longtime leader of the Serbian Radical Party. The current president of Serbia was one of the key officials of this party and one of Vojislav Seselj’s closest associates. Vucic also publicly declared that he has been advocating “delimitation” with the Albanians for years.
