While bereaved Serbs are burying international law in the north and political representatives are announcing that they will stand „bare-handed, along with their bare-handed people“ in front of armed formations if they move towards the north, Albanians in Kosovo are celebrating. The mayor of South Mitrovica is dancing on the streets of Pristina, lectures on the army are being held in mosques, Kosovo singers Gold Ag and Kastriot Tusha announce a new hit song „Army of Kosovo“, a couple got married wearing military uniforms…

Citizens are dancing on the streets of Pristina and expressing their satisfaction with the formal creation of this armed formation.

The mayor of South Mitrovica, Agim Bahtiri also joined the street celebration. Bahtiri was not allowed to enter the session of the assembly during the vote on the Kosovo Army law, since he was not on the official list, Index online reported. This, however, did not prevent the mayor of South Mitrovica from attending the session. As this portal reported, Kadri Veseli’s bodyguard managed to sneak Bahtiri in through a back entrance. After the session, Bahtiri showed his happiness dancing on the streets with the citizens.

Citizens expressed their satisfaction in different ways. A young couple from Urosevac decided to get married today while wearing US and KSF military uniforms. Lectures on the military are being held today in mosques throughout Kosovo, and even an imam from Srbica wore a military uniform today, Pristina-based media reported.

Kosovo’s singers Gold Ag and Kastriot Tush announced a new hit song „The Army of Kosovo“.

In honour of today’s vote in the assembly, PDK deputy Ganimete Musliu chose a symbolic outfit – a jacket with a military-style bow and a military cap with the coat of arms of Kosovo.

The President of the Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli, welcomed the KBS cadets during today’s session with the words “From today: attention – at ease”, which became the informal motto of the KBS and citizens even made a logo, Insajderi reported.

Given that today is a non-working day in Kosovo, the celebration of the formation of the Kosovo Army continues.

On the other hand, the Serbian students of the Pristina University organized a protest performance in North Mitrovica today. The performance started at 12:44 – symbolizing the UN Security Council Resolution, when the gathered students symbolically buried the United Nations Charter, UN Security Council Resolution 1244, as well as the Military-Technical Agreement from Kumanovo near UNMIK and OSCE buildings.

Instead of the bereaved family, the death notice read: „The Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija and other numerous admirers of international law are in mourning.“
