While the head of the Kosovo Office, Petar Petkovic, is boasting of the heroic defense by the bare-handed Serbian people in North Mitrovica and Zvecan who pushed special police units back to the south, the minister in the Kosovan government, Goran Rakic, described today’s events in the north as a Crystal Night.

In a statement for Pink TV, Rakic announced that Kosovo Serbs will meet with the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, in Raska today. That meeting is currently in progress.

„We cannot and won’t tolerate this anymore. And this was the Crystal Night for us, this is the most important meeting for us so far. This was the final straw,“ Rakic said previously, noting that he will ask the president to be honest with them “just as he always has been.”

„We will ask him to tell us whether he can help us, whether he wants to help us or not, but we must have that information today because this is a matter of life and death for us,“ Rakic emphasized.

This official in the Kosovo government stated that the Kosovo authorities have banned vaccines, abolished „medicines in pharmacies“, and confiscated groceries in stores.

„The only thing left for them to take from us is air. We will not tolerate it anymore,“ he stressed.

According to Rakic, the situation is now calm and the special police forces have withdrawn. He could not confirm how many people have been injured today.

The police units from Pristina conducted an anti-smuggling operation in North Mitrovica and Zvecan this morning, as well as several other municipalities in Kosovo. In North Mitrovica and Zvecan, a conflict broke out between citizens, primarily men, and special police units, which provided assistance to the police and the inspection officers that searched certain facilities throughout North Mitrovica and Zvecan. Stones and shock bombs were thrown and at least one official vehicle with RKS plates was set on fire, while several civilian vehicles were damaged. Journalists of the KoSSev portal were prevented from reporting from the field and attacked while reporting as the events unfolded. In the meantime, the police announced that the action has been completed, that six policemen were injured in the north, one of whom is an ethnic Serb. The KP also revealed that eight people were arrested, three of whom were from the north (6 Albanians, a Bosniak, and a Serb.)
