The Government of Serbia has made another series of staffing decisions. At the last session, new and old members of the Academy of Vocational Studies of Kosovo-Metohija were appointed, including Srpska Lista Vice President, Igor Simic. The company Mreža-Most Beograd obtained a new member of the board – the current member of the Serbian Parliament from Kosovska Mitrovica, Ljubomir Maric.
At the sessions held recently, the Government of Serbia adopted a series of personnel decisions related to Kosovo. Members of the Provisional Authorities in several municipalities were appointed and dismissed, as well as members of the Faculty Council within the University of Kosovska Mitrovica, including some of the top officials of Srpska Lista.
New personnel decisions were made at the previous session of the Government of Serbia, which was held last Friday.
One of the decisions was related to the dismissal of the members of the Council of the Academy of Vocational Studies of Kosovo-Metohija, who were appointed at the session held on February 4, 2021.
At the same time, a decision was made to appoint the members of the Council of this academy. However, as many as three members who were dismissed were re-appointed to the same position by the new decision.
One of them is Igor Simic, a former member of the Kosovo Assembly, and vice-president of Srpska Lista, who also holds several functions within the Serbian system.
According to data available on the website of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption of Serbia, published in 2021, Igor Simic, from September 2015 to December 2020, served as the chairman of the supervisory board in the company „JP Mreža most“, with a net monthly income of more than 47,000 dinars.
Also, since August 26, 2020, Simic has held the post of the director of the Pension and Insurance Fund, i.e. the office of the directorate in Pristina, with a monthly income of 160,000 dinars.
Since November 2018, he served as an assistant at the Faculty of Economics in Kosovska Mitrovica, with a salary of 112,600 dinars.
At the same time, Dragan Barac, Irena Stanic, Milena Mijailovic, Mirjana Georgijev, and Tanja Stankovic were dismissed as council members of this Academy.
With the following personnel decision, new members of the Council of this academy were appointed, among them – Igor Simic, Dragan Barac, as well as Mirjana Georgijev. The new members are Dragana Batacanin, Slobodan Miljojkovic and Marko Kuzmanovic.
At last week’s session, the Government of Serbia also adopted a decision on the appointment of members of the Council of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina with headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica.
The list included Marija Kragovic, B.Sc. lawyer, Jovana Smigic, B.Sc. sociologist, Ana Popovic Radosavljevic, B.Sc. musical artist-violinist, Nikola Dragovic, who holds a master’s degree in economics, Jovan Aleksic, doctor of historical sciences.
This decision replaced the previous decision on the appointment of members of the Council of the Faculty of Arts.
At the same time, the Government of Serbia adopted on Friday several personnel decisions related to the company „Mreža-Most“ Beograd, that is, as stated, „a company for the development and promotion of information through electronic media in the Serbian language in the autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija.“
As per one of the decisions, Milica Dakic was dismissed as a member of the supervisory board, however, with the very next decision, a person with the same name and surname, who is listed as a professor of Serbian language and literature, was appointed to this position.
On the other hand, Ivan Jaksic was relieved of his duties as a member of the supervisory board of this company.
At the same session, a new member of the supervisory board was also appointed – a member of the Serbian Parliament, Ljubomir Maric, who holds a master’s degree in industrial business management and is also a member of the Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party.
According to data available on the website of the Parliament of Serbia, Maric is also a member of the Committee for Constitutional Affairs and Legislation, a deputy member of the Committee for Labor, Social Issues, Social Inclusion, and Poverty Reduction, and a deputy member of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues.
This MP previously held the position of assistant director of the Kosovo Office.
Previously, Maric also held positions in the Kosovo system. He was a minister in the Kosovo government, but also a member of the Management Team for the formation of the ASM.
