The president of the Serbian National Forum, Momcilo Trajkovic, claims that, while on his way to Serbia proper, he was detained for two hours by Serb officials at the Merdare border crossing.
Trajkovic shared a video today in which he alleged that his personal documents were temporarily confiscated at this crossing.
On the other hand, he noted that the police officers were extremely fair.
„After almost two hours of waiting, I got my documents back and I was allowed to enter Serbia proper,“ said Trajkovic.
The Kosovo Serb politician claims that he knows why he was detained at the crossing.
„This happened due to our decision to organize the Serbian National Council – a large gathering where we wanted to express our dissatisfaction,“ he said.
Trajkovic pointed to the fact that the event, at which the new leadership of the Serbian National Council was scheduled to be elected, as well as a new strategy for “the survival and return of the Serbs” was supposed to be adopted, was planned to take place on August 26.
He reiterated that the gathering was canceled because „they were not allowed to use a hall“.
The gathering was slated to take place in the large hall of the Gracanica Center of Culture, as Kim reports, the Serbian National Council announced yesterday that they are now looking for a new hall, and will submit requests to all culture centers in Kosovo Serb areas – Gracanica, Strpce, Leposavic, Zvecan, Zubin Potok, Silovo and Ranilug, as well as the Technical School in North Mitrovica.
At the same time, they announced that they will ask the bishop of Raska-Prizren Teodosije for his blessing to hold the meeting in the courtyard of the Gracanica monastery.
Also today, Trajkovic promises that the Assembly of the Serbian National Council will be held. Moreover, he sent a message to Vucic:
„We will hold it, and I will continue to wait, if necessary. I’ll wait, and I hope I’ll come to see things go wrong for you too, because nobody’s candle burned forever, and neither will yours, Vucic.“
