The head of the Kosovo Office started a press conference today by presenting the ethnic map of Kosovo and Metohija. “Do not let anyone lie to you,” he told Kosovo Serbs and showed a large-surfaced white area of Kosovo where he claimed no Serb live.
He explained the reason for another press conference, which is „a horrifying campaign that is being conducted in Serbia and by part of the international community against the efforts of Serbia to obtain something for Kosovo Serbs.”
The campaign aimed at intimidating Kosovo Serbs, he noticed it, but the culprit is being seen on the other side – amongst the opposition, and a minor group of Kosovo Serbs and the church supported by a part of the international community.
As an example he cited the warning that Abbot Sava Janjic made last week about the danger of a so-called staged incident, naming it as a “campaign of lies” which is still „shamelessly taking place“.
He brought the map to show the ethnic composition and places without Serbs at present.
As another reason for having the map in public is not to be lied:
“Do not allow them to lie to you that there will be less Serbia in Kosovo and less help. We will not allow it.”
Serbia will fight for Kosovo, however, it cannot reclaim something that has not belonged to it for decades.
Djuric said today that the majority of Kopaonik is in Kosovo, almost up to Pancic’s Peak.
“It’s a sad reality which some are trying to hide,” he emphasized while he discovered it himself only a few days ago looking at figures, he added, as well.
“That is why, my dear friends, I have brought this map to you and we will not forget not even one Serb, in Ranilug, or in the Gnjilane region, or in Strpce, or in central Kosovo and Metohija, or here throughout Metohija – where less than three thousand Serbs remain, but, of course, neither in the north of Kosovo and Metohija,“ was yet another conclusion.
„Dear brothers and sisters in Kosovo and Metohija, do not let anyone lie to you that you’ll have anything less compared to what you have today with any possible agreement, from which we are still miles away.“
That Serbia is miles away from a final agreement, he repeated several times.
„If an agreement is ever reached, and there is a much greater chance that it won’t happen, Kosovo Serbs can only have more,“ he claimed, adding that it signifies that Serbia itself will have more – territories, institutional protection and rights for the Serbian people, property and church, and more financial support..
Djuric dedicated a larger part of the press conference to accusations leveled at the opposition in Serbia and a group of Serbs from Kosovo, using harsh words (hard syntagms) to describe, as he believes, the attack on Vucic and the Government.
