A police vehicle patrolling the Banjska-Izvore route was shot at today, the Kosovo Police confirmed tonight. The vehicle was damaged, but no one was injured. The suspected attackers left their jeep behind, the police claim.
The Kosovo Police just announced that shots were fired at one of their patrol vehicles. They suspect that the target of the attackers was the car driver.
During the investigation, police units found a car, an Opel jeep, on a mountain road 250 meters from the site of the incident, which they suspect was used by the attackers.
The KP say they found traces of suspects near the vehicle, who fled in an unknown direction.
Kosovo Police also suspect that the license plates found on the mentioned car do not actually belong to the same vehicle, and the plates were seized for further investigation.
Two cases were launched – „Attempted murder“ and „Attack on an official“.
The short police statement, however, lacks key details – including what happened from the moment shots were fired to the time they discovered the jeep, i.e. what the police were doing at that moment, whether they returned fire, set off the search and why the alleged attackers decided to abandon their vehicle.
