An ambulance driver reported to the police yesterday that he was physically attacked while transporting a COVID-19 patient to the hospital in North Mitrovica.
The incident took place in Knjaz Milos Street in North Mitrovica at approximately 1 pm yesterday, today’s Kosovo Police report reads.
The driver, whose identity was not revealed, did not give priority to the ambulance in which the patient was being transported – despite the fact the ambulance sirens were blaring, blocking the ambulance’s path.
The driver of the other vehicle then stepped out of his car and physically attacked the ambulance driver – the police report adds.
The attacked ambulance driver received medical attention in the meantime.
As per the prosecutor’s decision, the court will further proceed with the case.
