The „UÇK“ label, which recently appeared on Google Maps in North Mitrovica, is no longer visible on the platform.
Earlier this week, KoSSev reported on the appearance of this marker. It was located near two significant cultural landmarks: the Church of St. Dimitrije and a monument honoring miners, fallen fighters, and victims of occupation during World War II on Kukavica Hill.
The Google Maps marker, when active, directed users to an area situated between these two prominent landmarks—both among the most visited sites in this part of the city.
When reporters visited the location on Friday, they arrived at a leveling water reservoir operated by the city’s water utility.
Despite thorough observation, there was no visible indication or object at the site that would explain the connection to the „UÇK“ label.
As of Sunday, two days later, the marker has disappeared from Google Maps without any official explanation or acknowledgment from the platform.
