Simić Accuses IMC of Political Interference After Campaign Ad Ban

The Independent Media Commission (IMC) has issued an official notice to broadcasters airing a campaign ad by Srpska Lista, warning that the spot’s content could lead to the suspension of their broadcasting licenses.

Srpska Lista presidency member Igor Simić announced the warning on Thursday morning, reading out parts of the IMC’s notice which he said was delivered to media outlets running the ad.

According to Simić, the notice cites the slogan “how to endure terror and restore freedom again,” describing it as language “contrary to the constitutional order of Kosovo.”

The letter further “immediately prohibits the broadcasting of this content,” Simić read, “as such content may lead to the termination of licenses granted for program transmission.”

“Another Form of Pressure”

Simić accused the IMC of directly interfering in the political campaign and, as he put it, violating its own rules. He framed the measure as yet another form of pressure on Srpska Lista.

“All of this is aimed at discouraging us from winning the elections and bringing victory to the Serbian people, and to liberate the municipalities in the north once again,” Simić concluded.
