Dozens of Serb employees of the Provisional Municipal Authority of Strpce, which operates within the system of the Republic of Serbia, have been summoned for questioning by the Kosovo Police, according to a statement by the Mayor of Strpce, Dalibor Jevtić.

Jevtić specified that the individuals in question have been called to appear before the Department for Serious Crimes in Pristina as suspects in an ongoing investigation.

„For public clarification—this pertains to a case of alleged undermining of Kosovo’s constitutional order, involving citizens who are employees of the municipal administration,“ Jevtić explained.

Political Motives Alleged

The mayor, however, interprets these summonses differently, arguing that they represent a politically motivated process.

„In other words, this is a purely political process with a clear objective—to advance the ethno-nationalist policies of Albin Kurti, who cannot accept the electoral defeat he suffered at the hands of the Serb population. Despite all pressures and repression, the Serbian community voted for Srpska Lista!“ Jevtić asserted.

„We understand his frustration and everything he is doing,“ Jevtić added.

Calls for International Intervention

Jevtić urged the international community to step in and put an end to what he described as harmful actions by the Pristina administration. At the same time, he called on his fellow citizens to remain calm.

„They should know that in this fight against repression and institutional violence imposed by Kurti, they are not alone. None of those receiving these summonses are criminals; they are honest people who simply want to live normal lives. The era of Kurti’s politics of violence and repression will pass—peace and coexistence will prevail in the end, because justice always wins!“ he emphasized.

Ongoing Investigation and Previous Interrogations

In an effort to obtain more details regarding the reported summonses, KoSSev made inquiries to multiple sources within the Kosovo Police, but no response was received by the time of publication.

This is not the first time employees of the Provisional Authority of Strpce have faced police questioning. In July last year, 14 workers were interrogated at the police station in Urosevac following a summons from the Department for Serious Crimes, according to Tanjug news agency.

The order had been issued on July 15, 2022, just a week after Kosovo authorities conducted raids and confiscated materials from several Serbian institutions in Strpce, including the Provisional Authority.

During those operations, authorities seized a significant amount of documentation and surveillance cameras from the municipal office, which they subsequently shut down
