
Deputy Prime Minister, Dardan Gashi, Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala and others will appear before the court in early February for shooting from a firearm during a celebration of the release from charges of corruption of Deputy Prime Minister and co-chairman of the Negotiating team, Fatmir Limaj in September 2017, Kosovo media reported. The shooting took place on the premises owned by Fatmir Limaj, who was the Minister of Transport, Post and Telecommunications at the time, in the village of Banje in Malisevo.
„Due to the media’s interest in the case 197/2018, we inform you that the Basic Court in Djakovica, a branch in Malisevo, scheduled the first hearing against the accused E.S. and D.G. etc. for the criminal offense of ‘unauthorized possession, control or possession of weapons’ under Article 374 (1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. The hearing will be held on February 11th, 2019 in the Malisevo branch,“ the press release of the Basic Court in Djakovica reads.
Kosovo media reported that the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Dardan Gashi and the Minister of Trade and Industry, Endrit Shala are among the accused.
According to Pristina-based Koha, they are charged with the unauthorized possession of weapons after video evidence on which they are seen using firearms was published.
The former High Commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), and the current Co-Chairman of the Negotiating Team for Dialogue with Serbia, has been repeatedly acquitted of several charges.
The Djakovica Court of Appeal upheld the acquittal of former Kosovo Liberation Army Commander, Fatmir Limaj in November 2018, releasing him from responsibility for the killing of two Albanian civilians in 1998.
He was also acquitted of war crimes at the Hague War Crimes Tribunal in the former Yugoslavia and was acquitted of war crimes by the EULEX Judicial Council.

Prosecutor Ismet Tofaj confirmed the indictment against government officials for Gazeta Express.
„An indictment was filed against six people,“ Tofaj stated.
The Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Djakovica, however, refused to repeat any further details, reiterating that the indictment was filed against six people who participated in the shooting in the village of Banje in Malisevo.
According to some media allegations, this indictment also includes former President of Srbica, Sami Lushtаku, as well as Behar Amerllahu, Fadil Demiri and Sherif Kastrati.
The seven ministers in the Kosovo government are under indictment. They are charged with various offenses – abuse of office, possession of weapons, illegal employment, business and a traffic accident. Two deputy ministers were also indicted and arrested, while some members of the Kosovo Assembly and Kosovo mayors have also had problems with the law.
