Data from the Republic Election Commission, based on numbers processed from all polling stations in Serbia proper designated for voters from Kosovo, shows that the majority of Kosovo Serbs, as many as 17,087 or 71.56%, voted for the „Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia Must Not Stop“ list in yesterday’s parliamentary elections.

In Serbia yesterday, elections were held for a new parliament and local government in 65 self-governing municipalities, including Belgrade. Once again, Kosovo Serbs did not vote on the territory of Kosovo, instead, they exercised their civil rights in the nearest regions in Serbia proper.

These elections were marked by all-day lines and hours-long delays at the crossings, and the actual situation on the ground differed from the official data of the Kosovo Ministry of Interior.

Today, the Republican Election Commission announced the first results, based on processed data from 51 polling stations.

As they specified, out of a total of 94,161 voters from Kosovo, 23,878 of them (25.36%) participated in the voting process.

The data show that these elections recorded a low turnout of voters from Kosovo.

In more than half of the municipalities, the percentage of voters who did not participate in the elections is higher than 80%. The absolute record holder in this regard is Gora – with 95.05% of residents abstaining. On the other hand, in Sirinicka Zupa, 87% of registered voters from Strpce did not vote, and neither did 97% from Urosevac.

According to the official data of the REC on registered voters from Kosovo registered in border towns, the percentage of those who abstained is very high, almost 75%. This despite the fact that the crossing points recorded all-day crowds and hours-long waiting lines.
