Members of the Kosovo Police searched an apartment in North Mitrovica, where, as it was suspected, two ethnic Albanians from Vucitrn temporarily resided, and were the same persons who stole a car in South Mitrovica today, after which they crashed it in Zvecan.
At approximately 3 pm today, near the roundabout in Zvecan, a traffic accident involving two cars took place, the Kosovo Police confirmed for KoSSev.
The accident was caused by a BMW X5 vehicle with foreign license plates, previously reported as stolen in South Mitrovica. Two Albanians from Vucitrn – B. G. (1997) and O. E. (1991) – were in the vehicle, the Kosovo Police previously confirmed for KoSSev.
These persons were then arrested and taken to the Zvecan police station.
In the meantime, as the deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the region north, Besim Hoti confirmed for KoSSev, an apartment in North Mitrovica was searched, and it is suspected that it was rented by the persons suspected of stealing the car and causing the traffic accident.
The search was carried out by members of the Kosovo Police of the police stations in Zvecan and North Mitrovica who are working on this case. They were accompanied by an intervention unit.
According to KoSSev’s unofficial findings, the search was carried out in the „Rio“ building in North Mitrovica.
