The Kosovo Minister of Interior Affairs announced this evening that a significant amount of weapons, including RPGs, mortars, explosives, and ammunition, along with uniforms, reportedly intended for a terrorist attack were discovered in a vehicle in Zvecan. The announcement that was made on Facebook came almost simultaneously with a statement from the Deputy Commander of the KP for the Northern Region that the EOD team is yet to arrive to confirm whether it is indeed explosives, which the police suspect.
A larger number of armored vehicles and special units of the Kosovo Police were present in Zvecan tonight. They stationed themselves at the intersection in the „Kolonija“ settlement.
Veton Elshani, Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police for the Northern Region, confirmed on the scene to KoSSev that the police suspect that an explosive device is present in a vehicle in this settlement.
Elshani informed KoSSev that Kosovo Police officers are guarding the area and waiting for the EOD team from KFOR to arrive.
„We aren’t touching it; the police are only here to secure the area, and most likely KFOR and the EOD team will arrive, and then we will see,“ he stated.
While the police await the EOD team to determine the exact nature of the findings, Svecla claimed that a significant amount of weapons, including RPGs, mortars, explosives, and ammunition, intended for a „terrorist attack,“ hasdbeen found.
He even knows who the culprit is. He accused Serbia of being responsible.
He also published several photos showing a parked car with Belgrade license plates, with the trunk containing objects resembling weapons, including a box labeled „Osa 2 loading,“ a backpack, a metal box, and two objects resembling rifle butts sticking out.
The back seats appear to be filled with bags, purses, and backpacks.

„Thanks to the intensive engagement of specialized units of the Kosovo Police and obtained information – intelligence data, today, about 100 meters from the Municipality of Zvecan, a car with Belgrade license plates was identified, containing larger quantities of weapons, explosive devices, and ammunition. Various types were discovered, including RPGs, mortars, explosives, automatic weapons, a significant amount of ammunition, stun grenades, military uniforms, and bags.
All these items were intended and used for carrying out terrorist attacks against citizens and institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. This is further evidence that Serbia, through such groups and organizations, aims to destabilize our country.
The Kosovo Police, together with all other security agencies, continues its commitment to prevent any possible acts that aim to undermine the security of our country.
This case confirms the information received from the security institutions of the Republic of Kosovo that in recent weeks, vehicles, including cars, have been smuggled into Kosovo from Serbia with military weapons.“
