Russia’s position remains unchanged in regard to Kosovo – confirmed the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova.
This was her statement at yesterday’s regular press conference in Moscow to a journalist’s question as to whether something had changed in regard to Russia’s position on Kosovo given Hashim Thaci’s statement that he had a conversation with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Thaci met with Medvedev on Monday in Ankara, and then stated: „On this occasion, I asked Prime Minister Medvedev to establish communication between our countries.“
They, added Thaci, discussed the „final phase“ of the dialogue on (possible addition: the) normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia and „agreed that the potential agreement will bring long-lasting peace in the Western Balkans“.
