The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic stated that Srpska Lista should participate in the upcoming early parliamentary elections in Kosovo on October 6th, although they will have „powerful opponents in both the Albanian and part of the Serbian media“.
The decision on whether Srpska Lista will participate in the elections will be made “in consultation” with President Vucic – the head of the Kosovo Office, Marko Djuric announced today.
Vucic stated that he is currently waiting to „receive a report from the Kosovo Office and then to hear what Srpska Lista has to say.“ Nevertheless, the president believes that Srpska Lista should participate in this election.
„I think that they should participate in the elections and that they should win and fight for Serb interests,“ Vucic stressed.
He added that they would have „powerful opponents in both the Albanian and part of the Serbian media, as they will influence those people who want to destroy Serb national interests in Kosovo.“
The head of the Kosovo Office talked about 347 major projects of President Vucic’s programme this morning. According to Djuric, „every Serb community in Kosovo will look forward to“ to these projects. Vucic explained today how much money has been allocated for this purpose. He claimed that six billion would be spent for this purpose by the end of the year it, adding that an additional three and a half billion will be spent at the beginning of the next year.
Speaking about the recent detainment of a “Jedinstvo” journalist, the president of Serbia revealed that he „admires her courage“ and „applauded her on all that she has endured.“
Vucic also noted that these are the things and dangers that journalists in Kosovo face.
„All I can do is ask you to stay at your hearths, I have no right to ask anything else from you,“ he concluded.
