Kosovo Serb representatives met with Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic today in Belgrade, requesting to withdraw from all Kosovo institutions, Vucic announced claiming there were 150 of them approximately. The President asked them to wait for 45 days. He also claimed to be “surprised over their unity”, as “they live on the wages from the Kosovo system”.
In his opening remarks, the Serbian President addressed the media in a dramatic tone while saying that the meeting with Kosovo Serb representatives was “extremely difficult”. In his words, there were things that took place in the last 24h in Kosovo about which the media in Serbia remained ignorant.
„Albanians entered Zubin Potok last night and took a truck of a Serbian transporter because he supposedly imported goods from Central Serbia to Kosovo by using the green line. This triggered great anger by our population in Zubin Potok for the very first time and our people listened to us only after dozens of requests for our people to return to their homes,“ the president explained the alleged dramatic situation, while adding on his efforts to avoid “aggravated incidents”.
Contrary to this, Kosovo police claimed earlier this morning that a transport vehicle was used to transport goods without valid documentation and that the goods were imported by illegal routes.
Speaking in great detail about Srpska Lista’s alleged request to withdraw from all Kosovo institutions, Vucic said that he “asked Kosovo Serb representatives not to give them an answer today, nor in the next month and a half” until he meets with the Chinese president because he wants to talk “to the most important European and world leaders about everything.”
He also spoke about Trepca, warning that the Albanians want to block Trepca’s account and destroy it – from North Mitrovica to Leposavic – which would mean, according to Vucic, that 2.400 Serbs would be left jobless.
According to the president, the unification of the city of Mitrovica is also “a direct threat to Serbs in the north of Kosovo.”
To the Serbian public he also revealed Kosovo Serbs’ claims that the unification of Mitrovica could take place only if violence is used, but also that “this would be the end of our people’s survival in both Mitrovica and the north of Kosovo.”
Vucic claimed that Pristina simultaneously was trying to divide Srpska Lista, while adding that he was surprised by the Serbian “unity”.
Vucic also denied Haradinaj’s claims that 40 Kosovo Serbs applied to join the Kosovo Security Forces and called on all Serbs not to join this formation.
The head of the Kosovo Office, Marko Djuric, joined the President in speaking on the matter in greater details:
„During today’s meeting, some of the people who sat next to us openly said – ‘the leaders of the Albanians approached us in KiM, they offered us everything to separate several of our deputies from the south, from the North, it does not matter. They also offered us ministries and agencies, and money,’ nevertheless, the thought that they have no other homeland but our common homeland – Serbia, prevails in them,“ Djuric added.
For the third day now, officials from Belgrade and Srpska Lista criticized the newly appointed Kosovo Minister of Agriculture, Dijana Zivic, a nominee from the Kosovo Serbian SLS Party. The accusations against her were also repeated today.
“They invented a minister for whose party, in which her husband is also a part of, not even 5% of Serbs voted for. So that they can kick out those who received 90% of votes from the Serbs in KiM,” Vucic underlined.
While the Serbian president was holding a press conference in Belgrade, the president of the Independent Liberal Party, Slobodan Petrovic also addressed the public on the same matter in the party premises in Gracanica. The leaders of Srpska Lista – deputies in the Kosovo parliament, the presidents of the provisional municipal authorities in the Serbian system and the heads of institutions attended this meeting in Belgrade today, among whom was its Vice President Milan Radoicic. An Insajder journalist posed a question on him being seen with the state’s top officials while requested by the Kosovo court over the most aggravated criminal acts. Marko Djuric in a lengthy answer said he would not believe Pristina, asking for proof.
