„It is a great crime to kill a man just because he spoke out. Challenging and supporting and slowing down the investigation is also a crime, but protecting a criminal is a crime to top all crimes, and I think those suspected of crimes against Oliver, unfortunately, are protected by the President of Serbia,“ a candidate of the Freedom (Sloboda) coalition, Rada Trajkovic said this morning at the site of Ivanovic’s murder. Exactly from this site, she launched her pre-election campaign.
Trajkovic apologized to the Ivanovic family, who demanded the name of Oliver Ivanovic not be used in the election campaign, adding that they must understand that „Oliver, after his murder, is not just theirs anymore.“ He belongs to all people who despise crime and seek justice and freedom – she also said.
Trajkovic revealed that the reason she came to this site is that the SDP premises would be turned into the “Oliver Ivanovic” Memorial Complex, which will gather “young people in search of freedom.” She did not provide any further details.
„That is why I came to tell you from this place, that this house where Oliver spent most of his time, this house from which freedom, understanding and messages of coexistence for all Serbs and all people in Kosovo and Metohija came from, when people like those at the very top of Srpska Lista change, this house will become the ‘Oliver Ivanovic’ Memorial Complex, where young people will gather to spread what is most sacred – freedom,“ she said.
Trajkovic also recalled that one of the suspects involved in the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, the Vice President of Srpska Lista, Milan Radoicic was „freed from any responsibility with a polygraph test.“ She then added that Srpska Lista, at the same time, „prides itself on him (Radoicic) being one of the most popular Serbs,“ as he allegedly has over 80% support among the Serbs. “Which is a lie” – this Freedom coalition candidate stressed.

The media and observers from the EU Election Observation Mission covered this visit. A police patrol was also present on the scene. Prior to Trajkovic’s arrival, several vehicles with Srpska Lista members were noticed in the vicinity. The premises of this party are located near the offices of Ivanovic’s GI SDP party.
