The house where the offices of the civic initiative „Serbia, Democracy, Justice“ in North Mitrovica are located, whose locks were changed last night, is privately owned. Most likely, the owner did it himself last night, the police confirmed for KoSSev. In the meantime, as we were told, the owner reached an agreement with the party members.
The doors of the offices of the party which was headed by the late Kosovo Serb politician, Oliver Ivanović, were found ajar this morning by his associates.
„We came to the offices this morning and found a terrible situation. The offices were ransacked, the locks changed. Also, a padlock was installed on the lower floor. The stairs that can be seen in front are the stairs leading to the offices, and it is evident that the person who did this went inside. All the documentation is inside,“ Ksenija Božović told KoSSev this morning.
This incident, she added, upset and disappointed them, especially because the court proceedings into the murder of the former leader and her close associate, Oliver Ivanović, are still ongoing.
Božović says that this morning, the feelings they felt on the day of his murder rushed back among the co-workers.
„We feel the same as when we were informed that he was killed,“ she pointed out.
„Oliver died in this place, he lost his life. We still haven’t found out who did it, and now someone came and did such an inhuman and shameful act.“
They notified the Kosovo Police. The party members have no clue as to who might have done this, but Božović had a message for them:
„Whoever did this should have informed us, me or the family members, as per the law.“
The Kosovo Police told KoSSev that it is a privately owned house, previously owned by the Kosovo Privatization Agency.
„The Privatization Agency of Kosovo sold that house to someone, we still don’t know when. According to our information, that owner came last night and changed the locks,“ Veton Elshani, deputy commander of the KP for the region north,“ told KoSSev.
In the meantime, they found out the identity of the owner, took the keys from him and entered the premises.
„We are taking statements from both him and the people who reported the case. We are checking whether anything was taken or damaged from the premises itself during his entry,“ he said.
KoSSev learned that the house was sold to a man of Albanian ethnicity.
In the meantime, Elshani confirmed that the owner made an agreement with the members of the party, and that it was established that nothing was damaged in the premises last night.
According to his information, the party will stay in the same building after they reach an agreement, and the police are not opening a case.
