The deputy of the Serbian Progressive Party, Marko Parezanovic, tweeted in early November with a photograph of opposition leaders Vuk Jeremic and Slavisa Ristic from Zubin Potok in front of an orthodox monastery in Kosovo: “I suppose Slavisa (Ristic) explained to him what kind of politics he should be leading, so that he does not meet the same fate as Djindjic.”
The Narodna stranka, led by Vuk Jereic, reacted today, claiming that they are now, following a series of incidents and attacks against their party members, carried out by SNS activists, are now faced with death threats. It called on the judicial authorities of Serbia to urgently and accordingly respond. This party also claimed that a prosecution is being led against the President of the People’s Party, Vuk Jeremic, which is identical to the one led against the assassinated Oliver Ivanovic.
Vuk Jeremic himself asked the President of Serbia, tweeting today: „Am I supposed to take this as a good-natured warning @avucic?“
Parezanovic also reacted via Twitter :
“Who is now threatening with Djindjic’s fate, Slavisa Ristic or myself? Therefore, according to Ristic, Djindjic was killed because he did not fulfill a promise made to the West, and Vucic could also face that fate. Vuk Jeremic takes pictures with Ristic and supports his views! And when I point that out, then that is a problem?” – the deputy of the Serbian Progressive Party wrote.
Jeremic’s photograph appeared in the midst of yet another and current media scandal in Serbia.
Shortly after the Belgrade-based state sponsored Ilustrovana Politika magazine published the infamous article: “The beasts are unleashed, why are RTS and Politika silent?“ by the same journalist whose fake news text back in 1999 precedeed Slavko Curuvija’s assassination, this paper published another disputable text entitled “Anti-war Profiteer” about another journalist, Ljiljana Smajlovic, along with a photo of Vuk Jeremic next to her.
Ilustrovana Politika reported that the bombing of Serbia in 1999 lasted much longer than planned because of LjiljanaSmajlovic’s influence on the Washington Post.
These allegations were condemned by the association of Journalists of Serbia and Reporters Without Borders.
